Sunday lunchtime pint in The Cock Hotel, Wellington on 1st March 2015. Clear light golden body with a full white topping. Hops lead the way in this easy drinking brew, tropical fruits with a mild citrus feel to both the aroma and taste. Another fine beer from Rowton.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival, Nov 14. Pours amber with bubbly white head. Leafy green hop taste with slight floral elements. Nice bitter finish. Solid.

Brewery trip on 16th Aug 2014: two beers on hand-pull for our visit (local CAMRA branch), one of them this fine Mild. Jim Preston, the one man band that runs the brewery did say it was not as dark as it usually is, but the malts let him down a little, same aroma and taste according to Jim, just lighter than he wanted and normally gets from the brew. So today we got a mid-brown, clear Mild with an off-white head hand-pulled pint, you just helped your self and put a pound into the honesty box, or at least I hope everybody did. Malty aroma, semi-sweet with the molasses blending in nicely with the hops to produce a fine, easy to drink Mild with enough flavour to want another (and another). Nothing special, just a well balanced and tasty Mild, I just wish more breweries would produce such a good flavoursome, low alcohol Mild now and again.

10th June 2014: Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates. Hand-pulled pint. Light golden body, bright and clean, on top a white coating of foam that lasted and gave off some good lacing. Floral and herbal hop notes in the nose and taste: drying bitter finish. Another well crafted beer from this ’one man band’ brewery.

Another winner from Jim Preston. Hand-pulled pint in The Old Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 17th May 2014. Golden in colour with a good white crown on top. Lightly hopped and even lighter in malt content it shouldn’t taste so good, but it does. Refreshing and thirst quenching with just enough bite to please.
