Cask @ Cafe Beermoth, Manchester. Clear golden with a creamy head. Metallic citrus notes, tastes like a bit of welding has been going on in the vicinity.

Cask at Real Crafty, Wigan. Pours very dark reddish-brown with minimal foamy tan head and good lacing. There’s roast malts and oats in the aroma, plus some hints of toffee. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with a creamy texture. Flavour has dark fruits, treacle and roast malts with traces of honey and cola coming through later. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. Seems to be quite decent, but I can’t be too certain as it was served much too cold – a rerate required maybe ?

Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark almost brownish gold, mostly clear with a full off-white head. Marmalade in the aroma, some tamarind, a little bit of caramel. Big bitter taste, hops hit the back of your throat. Notes of spice along with pink grapefruit rind. This is no sweet hazy pale, this beer is old school. Long bitter finish. Full almost oily body with soft to no carbonation.
