Bottle on the beach in Littlehampton. I think i bought the bottle at the Drinker’s Paradise in London. Pours clear, rich gold with a very large, fluffy white head. The nose holds some dusty pine, toasted white bread, mild orange. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted bready malts, hints of caramel, pine, dirt, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, licks of alcohol, pine needles, dry orange, dry bread. So so.

Mild malziger Antrunk, leicht herb und angenehm hopfig. Weiterhin mild, spritzig, könnte durchaus intensiver sein. Minsk röstig. 11/9/9/9/7/9

500ml bottle from Beer Hawk - For a start this looks awful, the generic labelling to the horrid murky orange body, it actually looks like it comes from the deep. The nose is lightly tropical, a bit of malt, a bit citric. The mouthfeel is quite oily, a bit syrupy, with the ABV coming through in the taste. A decent beer, but could be so much better if it didn’t have fish swimming in it.

Aroma: Metal, orange, banana and a hint of white pepper.

Appearance: Hazy orange body with a huge white head. Lively carbonation. Great lacing.

Taste: Similar to the aroma - metal, yeast and white pepper. Quite sweet.

Palate: Thin body with an oily texture. Fizzy carbonation.

Overall: Not the most complex Hefeweizen, and it’s very thin. Overall, though, it’s not bad.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras. Deepish clear brown beer with a very thin beige head. Malty aroma, brown malt aroma. Yep a brown ale type lager. It’s ok, I’m just not a massive fan of this style of beer. It’s a bit dirty and as I say, Im just not a fan of these flavours, brown malt and not a lot else.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras, clear mid brown beer with no head. Actually this does taste quite German. Mostly the malt. It’s fine, malts are pretty tasty. No real hop, the bite on the end is more from the carbonation. Drunk watching the Dortmund vs Bayern Champions league final. It’s slightly better than average.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear golden amber pour with foam white head, feint citrus hop, tastes like a bit of a fight between malt and hop, the malt wins but there is some citric taste.
