Draught at Lord Nelson. Frothy lightbrown fair mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Sweet flavor with distinct anis notes. Nice bitterness. Long finish. Oily palate. I kind of like this beer.

Bottled. It pours almost golden, with lots of mini-floaties and a white head. Grass, hay and a weak maltyness in the aroma. The flavor is a bit sweet, with malt, hay and grass. Fizzy, medium mouthfeel. It’s quite nice, nothing more. (061229)

700 ml bottle. Pale yellow body with floaters, creamy white head. Discreet aroma, malt and fruit. Flavor is also rather discreet. Malt, fruit and bread. Watery and thin body. Sorry, I don’t like this.

(Bottle 70 cl) Very unclear brown with a beige head. Lightly tart aroma with some yeast. Some roasted malt, an orange-like tartness and then a distinct, spicy dryness with also quite some bitterness. And the yeastiness is there all the way through. Appears like a weird hybrid between a German Dunkelweizen and a spicy Belgian Ale. 081206

Draught at Lord Nelson, 6,2% ABV
Dark brown color with red hue; creamy head. The aroma, at first, shows some honey (chestnut-like). Medium body, with enough sweetness to balance (and more) the caramel and some roasted malt. Yet, the mix is ordinary.

Very dark brown color; creamy head. Nice aroma of malt, caramel, vanilla. Very nice taste, soft and smooth, with roasted malt, caramel, some vanilla again, well mixed and well brewed. The long final has a lot of roasted malt. Good one.

A very dark brown beer - almost opaque, but with a slight red shine, that reveals a slight hazyness. The head is thin and brown. The aroma is sweet buttery - is it a flaw, or is it over the top?, but also with citrusy notes of hops and chocolate as well as light notes of phenol. The flavor is sweet with a weird mixture of chocolate, honey, butter, and citrus, towards the end light roasted notes appear, but the aftertaste is slightly acidic.
