Keg at Brewdog Paddington, London. An amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Not what I was expecting from a milkshake IPA. Vague fruity, raspberry mess.

Crowler from Dogtap, Ellon. It pours clear amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is bracing notes of chilli peppers, green, peppery, tangy, lime zest, fiery ginger beer, ginger nuts and somewhat medicinal in character. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, pithy, zingy, zesty, huge lime character, tart, tangy, warming spice, fiery ginger beer, toasted borne sugars and definite Moscow mule character with a dry finish. Aberdeen body and carbonation. Works pretty well tbh.

Crowler from Dogtap, Ellon. It pours clear darkest ruby with a thick, foamy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, light vanilla, plenty of coffee, rich chocolate character, cookie dough and toasted nut. The taste is initially smooth, fairly thick, dark roasted malt, burnt toast, charred, bitterness which builds, some umami, toothy, tar, some dark/dried fruits, plenty of coffee, chocolate covered coffee beans, warming alcohol, oak tannin and muted vanilla with a smooth, dark roasted finish. Fulsome body and moderate, supportive carbon. Flavourful and nce balance. Not too sweet or artificial.

Keg at BD Tower Hill. Opaque more than hazy gold. Fluffy foamy white head. Aroma has light fruit sweetness with a herbal streak. Flavourwise it has sour grapefruit with less prominent stone fruit in the mix. Vinous edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Unexciting NEPA.

Keg at the source. Dark and inky. Foamy light beige head. Aroma has bitter instant coffee. Flavourwise it is then more interesting. A coffee streak buffets candy sugar and berry sweetness. The bitterness and sweetness provide a fulcrum for each other. Boozy warmth. Thick. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable Baltic if at the sugary sweet end of the style.
