Description
The brewery is still a small family run operation and currently employs over 20 people. The business was set up by Shane and Alison Parr, with lots of help from Iain and Anne Reid (Alison’s parents) and Innes Reid (Alison’s brother), but we survive and thrive on the great crew we have working with us.

Our brewing plant capacity has been upgraded over the years and now is now 100 brewer’s barrels (28,800 pints) per week, which allows us to meet demand during peak periods. In 2013 we constructed a purpose built, energy efficient brew house, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our environmental impact by saving water and energy.

Third of a pint at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival in St Mary's Church on 25th September 2025. Very dark brown body, almost black, tanned topping that stayed. Malts, roasted, toasted and bitter, some coffee esters and flavours in their too. Mini berry like fruity twist also.

Third of a pint at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on 25th September 2025. Light golden body, white crust. Strada hops doing their thing, mango, grapefruit and passionfruit flavours vying for position in the flavours and aroma. A bit thin for 4.4% ABV in my eyes.

Half pint, gravity pour; Black Bear (Whitchurch) on 23rd May 2025. Light golden body, clean and clear, white crown on top. Citrus front with a more floral balanced finish, it's a gentle rather than 'in your face' hop centric brew.
