Merton Beer Festival, Sat 18th Feb. Differs very little from the commercial description in that it was red and quite fruity but I seemed to detect a pleasant citrusy bitterness to it. Another reliably good beer from Rebellion but they can and have done better.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm 2 Feb 2006) Very nice colour, clean amber. Fruity with hints of apricot and raspberries. Balanced hoppy character. Tastes overall like...an english ale (surprise!). Well crafted, but nothing exceptional.

Cask at the Market Porter, London
End of the cask. Dark amber color and thin head. Light malt aroma. Very good malty taste and caramel, balanced, with a touch of mild chocolate, medium body. Quite strong and long finish. Good.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Deep chestnut colour, with disapearing thin beige head Some malts, some choc, some dark fruits. Fullish in mouth, some dark sour cherry. Finish has more fruit and tingly hop. Tad vinuous too.

Cask gravity Notts BF 05. This beat both the Brewsters Hophead and Nottingham Rock Bitter in the SIBA bitter category, although I thought the other 2 were better. Deep copper colour. Nice hop/caramel. Not a lot of fruit. Caramel in mouth, with hoppy finish. Quite dry, bit tangy, bit of choc. Nice understated hop.

[Cask] A dark amber beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet roasted, while the flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread and lots of caramel.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms at GBBF 2004] A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with slight notes of citrus. The flavor is cask flat and sweet with ntoes of wheat - though without the wheat sourness, but instead a very nice hoppy end.
