Opening up a tall boy can (bottom of can says 10/1/18 put up date) of this offering from La Cumbre obtained in Santa Fe several weeks ago. Nice can, fine label, I notice these things. Generally I see dank on an IPA, I'm trying. I pour into my Great Heights snifter and find a gold-yellow liquid with a covering-the-top skim of foam. The scent is not bad, grapefruit mostly, pine needles and field. I tip for a drink, yes, really nice. Strong citrus, strong hoppiness, newly mowed grass, danky as they reach for, I get it. A truly good IPA.

32oz crowler pours with a crystal clear gold body that supports a regenerative off white head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet bread, a bit of lemon and lime and faint earthy hops. The taste delivers some lemon, almost like a splash of lemon juice was added, lime and then a modest and slightly distracting thin layer of sweet bread. Behind those notes are mild levels of floral and faint earthy hops. This offering gets pretty close. It has just a little too much sweet headlines and comes across lacking a bit in freshness. I need to hit the brewery at some point for a fresh sample.
