Pint can. Passion fruit aroma with notes of pineapple, mango, tangerine, orange, grapefruit and light floral hops. Pours hazy golden colored with a finger of off white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with juicy passionfruit, pineapple, orange and tangerine flavors. Finishes smooth but a touch dry with mango, grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Pretty nice hazy.

Bottle from Stefan: pours black with almost no head. No idea how olde this is. Aroma is barrel, anise, dark chocolate, vanilla. Taste is somewhat sweet, lightly boozy, some bitterness. Nice aftertaste.

Pint Can. Pours a crystal clear yellow gold color with a big white head that has fair retention. The aroma is on the mild sire with grapefruit, pineapple and sawdust. The taste is grapefruit, and pine resins. The palate is on the lighter side and the carbonation is soft. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Easy drinking IPA that seems very much in the west coast style.

Pint can. pours a hazy/cloudy pale yellow color with a smallish white head that soon fades away. The aroma is quite strong with pineapple, grapefruit and mango. The taste doesn't quite live up to the aroma with simple grapefruit. Bitterness is medium. The palate is full and the carbonation soft. Finishes medium in duration with lingering bitter grapefruit. Overall: Ok brew--This might be a nice summer quaff, but they are releasing it as a winter seasonal.

A pint can found in Albuquerque on our last trip to northern New Mexico. I am pleased to find a new beer from La Cumbre to rate, an infrequent event. There is my Buffalo Bayou snifter ready to receive the pour and I proceed. The appearance is an opaque gold-yellow liquid completed by a slender skim of white bubbles. The scent is strong with tropical fruit and to a much lesser degree, citrus. The taste, well, it is different. Grapefruit, hops, herbal, a bit of lime, cardboard and a bare hint of mango. A rare misfire from the brewery for me.

Pint Can. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow with a small white head. The aroma is medium in strength with grapefruit, grains and rock candy. The taste, as in the aroma, is grapefruit, mild grains and some sweet candies. The palate is light and crisp with lively carbonation. Finished short and dry. Overall: East drinking pils.

Another NM tick thanks Stefan! Clear gold and foamy head. Nose is vegetal and citrus. Tatses of grapefruit, scallions, lemon, sourdough, pancake batter, zucchini. Weird one here. Medium palate pricklynfinish.
