330ml bottle bought at Fresh Fields Market in Croydon. A pearl white head resting over a cloudy amber coloured body. Fair lacing. Aromas of herbal hops, ash and caramel notes. Toffee-like flavours joined by wood and marmalade. Piney bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied. Rather heavy to drink (Shared with Finn at his place, Tromsø 04.02.2016).

Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Thought this was ’Santa Balls’! Hazy gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Light dry pale malts, little citric peel and ripe citrus. Dry floralness. Dry finish. Okay.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours unclear gold with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds ripening citrus fruits and pale, bready malts. Light to medium sweet flavour with more citrus and bread, offset by a touch of rindy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Nicely balanced to close out, with notes of tangerine, rind and lightly toasted grains. Not a bad one.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours hazy deep red-amber with a small beige head. The nose is toasted brown bread upfront, then orange peel, kumquat, sweet tangerine, bitter sweet aspect and some cocoa. The taste is toasty, earthy, pretty bitter, charred wood, ash, coffee, cocoa, dark fruits and light spice. Medium body and fine carbonation. Doesn’t have a whole lot of depth to it, but I sort of like it.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. Itp ours murky pale brown/amber with small bright white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, jammy, Victoria Sponge Cake, candied peel, varnish and fruit compote. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy, rather bready, Victoria Sponge, jammy, varnish, porridge and light spice with a dry, bitter-sweet finish. Medium bod and fine carbonation. I’m not 100% sure what this is supposed to be, but I thought it was all right.
