Can from the Black Toad. Appearance - a bit lively and then a massive head of foam with a slowly growing pale yellow and cloudy body. Nose - lemon, banana, sweet spice and dried orange. Taste - sweet lemon and orange and again sweet spice. Panettone. Palate - light bodied, rich and fruity middle, dry and fairly zesty finish. Overall - nice, despite the pour taking so long to complete.

On tap at Black Lodge, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals gentle, floral, piney hops, with a soft biscuity malt base. Flavour has a strange fungal hoppiness, with gentle pine, and biscuity malt underpinning. Weird fungal, herbal finish. Not bad but this isn't working for me at all.

On tap at Black Lodge, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a lightly spicy and herbal hoppiness upfront, with a touch of dankness. Flavour is very light, with gently spicy hops, toasted grains, and biscuity malt. Not much character but drinkable enough.

On tap at Black Lodge, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle spicy rye, some light piney hops and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp, with gentle piney hops, and very lightly spicy rye. Not much character here really. Clean but uninteresting.

On tap at Black Lodge, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is full of crisp grassy hops, some spiciness, and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is mineraly, with rough straw, toasted grains, and gentle spicy hops. Crisp, grainy and straw-like finish. Pleasant.

On tap at BrewDog Liverpool, pours an opaque cloudy dark jammy link with a large pink head. Aroma is full of lactose, vanilla and mixed berries — yep, sort of like ice cream. Flavour is less vibrant and fruity than expected, with muddled pithy berries, subtle lactose and obscured vanilla. I don't like these styles in general, but this somehow doesn't even manage to achieve what would be appreciable in such creations. Needs work.
