Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Keg at BD7D - London. Pours unclear gold with a modest, creamy white topping. Ripening citrus in the nose, melon, ripe lemon. Medium sweetflavour with some gooey citrus, mild bitterness, hints of alcohol, bready pale malts. Medium to full bodied, somewhat chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes with more bright citrus fruits, papaya, white grape, a little bitter rind. Nice stuff.

Can at Brewdog Seven Dials. Pours murky gold with a white head. Aroma is super juicy tropical fruit. Mango, pineapple, papaya and orange. Taste is a juicy, fresh big tropical fruit juice hit. Um bongo with a lovely peppery spicy finish to reign in all that juicy goodness. Top drawer, easy drinking hop jizz.

Keg at BD7D - London. Pours mostly clear gold with a small, creamy white head. Nice dank aroma, melon, tropical fruits, mango. Medium sweet flavour with supportive pale malts, mild bitter orange rind, more mango, papaya. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some gooey tropical fruits, more rind, some piney notes. Really solid.

Shared can. Pours hazy copper with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine. Taste is grapefruit, tropical fruit, pine, lysol, lemon notes. Can't seem to pick up the grey matter, however. Decent.

Draft at the source multiple times and a few cans. Pours an unclear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Great lacing down the glass. Durian, lychee and mango aromas. Smooth and creamy coconut and banana. Lingering banana and cream notes. Rich and smooth. Almost no bitterness. This is really good. Probably my fave BI since Chief of Chiefs. Can didn't wow as much as the draft but still solid.

Draft at the source and cans from Craft Brewed. Pours a thick, hazy gold with with a quickly dissipating finger of white foam. Very pungent white grapefruit nose with lemon zest aromas. Smooth and juice-like body on the palate. Would like a bit more carbonation in the can though. Lots of white grapefruit pith and bitterness on the palate. A little more bitter than most Bearded Iris but it works well. Lingering grapefruit pith.
