Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Absolutely delicious. Massive aroma of tropical fruit and citrus leads to a papaya-grapefruit front followed by notes of mango and pineapple. Finishes with citrus pith and melon. Deliriously good.

Almost perfectly clear golden coloured body with a nice sized two to three centimetres tall off-white and almost tan head with a ton of miniature floaters swimming furiously around, crazy looking! Aroma of grass, grapefruit, hay, flowers and some subdued candy notes, with alcohol noticeable, too. Light to Medium-bodied; Very crisp super stone fruity and showing just a touch of sweetness without any perceived bitterness and seemingly no hops or much malt at all - this is very soft and crisp. Aftertaste shows a light hit of floral and perfumey flavours, but again, no alpha acid bitterness from the hops and only a little bit of apricoty notes from fruit with not much malt support at all. Overall, a nice and enjoyable beer that almost feels/tastes like a lager with how light it is, but the apricoty and dry notes are nice. Not great if you enjoy more 'traditional' or newer school IPAs and this is also nowhere close to Imperial Status. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Broughton Street Liqours in Savannah, Georgia on 30-December-2021 for US$4,99 with the tagline 'Liqour Math' on the bottom of the can, and canned on 13-August-2021 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-May-2022.

Sampled from the tap at Malcolm Yards. Pours a a clear pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has slightly dank and earthy grass with a bit of hay and grains underlying. Flavor has earthy grass and hay with bread and straw notes supporting.

Excellent DIPA, with a subtle honey sweetness mixed and floral undertones, citrus pith, mild tropical notes, and a gentle mandarin brightness on the fade. Delicious; the best Queen Bee yet.

Very bright, full of stone fruit and berry notes from the hops, followed by citrus pith and chive, with a pine bitterness on the back end. Almost skews tart; I wish it was a little boozier to tamp down the fruit. Okay.

Nice IPA, offering bright notes of stone fruit, citrus pith, and white grape, with a hint of pine and earth and a modest mineral bitterness. Slightly sweet grain and peach linger on the fade. Tasty.
