Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Good IPA, offering up a gentle mix of melon, stone fruit, papaya, and citrus zest, with a mild graininess on the back end and a subtle pithy fade.

Berry tartness meets Citra-derived pineapple, lemon, grapefruit pith, and a touch of pine. Tartness continues into the fade and meets a modest bitterness. Needs a larger malt presence to support all the fruit. Not bad.

Very hazy yellow pour with a small white head. There’s a citrusy, hoppy aroma. The flavor is similar on the citrus hops. Grapefruit and oranges. Mild to moderate bitterness. It’s good, but I wouldn’t call it $10 pint good.

Can shared in Canary Wharf - cheers to Kenny. Pours unclear pale gold with a frothy, white head. Decent, perhaps a touch faded, a few crackery pale malts, rindy citrus, tangerine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Soft finish, lightly warming, rounded citrus. Good overall.

Nice pale ale, surprisingly clear considering the brewery. Nice notes of orange, tangerine, lime, and a touch of peach, with an earthy undertone and the mildest of grainy sweetness in the fade. Maybe a little pine, a little yeast on the finish. Tasty pint.

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, straw color, with a big, foamy, white head. The aroma is corn husk, spruce, lavender, and resin. Not overly sweet, with a dank bitterness. Light and sticky. Fair.
