Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Bottle from Brewtoon. It pours pretty much opaque black with a deep tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, sticky, oily, umami, liquorice, ripe jammy blueberry, blueberry muffin, coffee grounds and dark chocolate. The taste is slick, toothy, chewy, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, toast, coffee, dark chocolate, tangy dark fruits, jammy blueberry vibes, plum, umami, liquorice, toasted sesame, light soy and limited alcohol presence with a roasty finish. Medium+ body and average carbonation. Doesn't come across as a double digits abv. Thankfully not too sweet. Maybe a bit too much umami, but decent anyhow.

Can from BrewDog. It pours cloudy cloudy deep mango orange with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tangy, ripe mango, mango juice, apricot, peach, zingy and some orange squash. The taste is dry, juicy, thick pulpy fruits, plenty of mango, mango smoothie, apricot, peach, some boozey vibes, ripe and a touch of boozey warmth with a smooth, fruity finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but it works and drinks well!

Can from Brewtoon. It pours cloudy golden - orange with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, orange creamsicle, peaches & cream, nectarine, mango, orange jelly, sponge cake, touch green, weedy and spring onion. The taste is smooth, bitter & sweet, juicy, orange creamsicle, peaches & cream, Fanta ice cream float, green, weedy, leafy, dank, prickly booze, sponge cake, marmalade and some warmth through the finish. Fulsome body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Errs on the side of being a bit sweet, but it's fun anyhow.
