Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dry malts, modestly sweet. Pithy citrus and a little orange peel. Smooth pine. Light dry finish. Mild bitter linger. It’s okay, a bit dry and pithy.

Hazed deep golden color with an off white layer on top. Some lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft to average carbonation level. Moderate sweetness and a fine fresh bitterness. Fruity, citric hoppy, mild pine and some toffee in the flavor. Ok refreshing ale.

Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Dark brown with a quickly disappearing khaki head. Baking chocolate, cola nut, coffee, liquorice, blackberry jam and a touch of forest floor in the aroma. Sweet taste, Just the right side of sickly, with some souring notes in the finish. I don’t get treacle per se but there’s lots of scrummy stuff going on for the ABV. Still, the thinness of the body and the lack of depth take it down a notch.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Leicester Beer festival, 11/3/2017. Hazy amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. grassy hop and tropical fruit aroma. Flavour had biscuity malts, more fruit, and a hint of marmalade sweetness before a dryish finish. A good beer, which would probably have been better at the start, rather than end, of the barrel.

Cask-conditioned at the Blue Boar, Leicester 11/3/2017. Dark brown colour, with a slight, beige, head. Aroma of milk chocolate, treacle and berry fruits. Flavour was also sweet, with toasty malts, more chocolate and rich sugar notes, before a gentle finish. Excellent.

9th March 2017
Wakatu and Pacific Gem hops. Light haze on this gold - amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malt, smooth and mildly sweet. Fairly bitter hops, bitter floralness and pine. Bitter citric peel. Smooth finish. Long strong bitter linger. Feels like a lot of boil hop here. A bitter bastard but goes down alright.
