Dark amber coloured body with a nice tan head that fades fast. Aroma of fresh hops, strong caramel malt, some metal, pine and grapefruit all rolled into one. Heavy-bodied; Strong spiceyness of pine and grapefruit with a large malt backbone and a taste that fades quickly. Aftertaste shows none of the beer that was picked up right at first sip, the beer fades off to nothing. Overall, a beer that lacks in complexity, but looks and smells promising. I sampled this 65 cL bottle puchased at BevMo in Danville, California on 06-December-2004.

Light hazy gold with restrained hops aroma, very pleasant. Good solid sweet malts with hops comming well in final, but not in your face. Alcohol very present, but overall pleasant. (Sept. 2004)

Bottle. Rich amber color with a big off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with some citrus hops. Sweet malt and caramel flavor. Sugary sweet finish. Just enough hops. Just too sweet. Hides alcohol well. Tried a year later and the sweetness is all but gone, but so is the life of the beer - not much to it. Rating is for fresh version.

Golden straw color with impressive lacing - not your typical pilsner aroma, quite malty in fact - same for the flavor - quite sweet and chewy for a pils, and it doesn’t finish clean like one either - there is a light, flowery hop presence that compliments the light, fruity sweetness - there is nothing really special happening here - just a solid, drinkable beer - run of the mill, but worth a try.

Bottle Poured clear dark brown with a small wispy head and good lacing. Lots coffee on the nose along with some chocolate and smokiness. Some classic dark roast flavors, not as much coffee as I was expecting. Somewhat bitter trailer but a nice heavy feel.

Orange/copper coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of pacific northwest hops, caster sugar, some malt & some grapefruit. Flat hop flavour showing no bitterness at all. Aftertaste clean with no wheat or hop character. A few months old-but kept in a fridge. This one should hold up! Overall, try a different IPA from the west than this one! I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 09-October-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with my good friend Jon[R888710].
