Tart berries rather than sour as such. Decent body.

Draught @ Dive 96 Bar, Manhattan NYC (April 2025). Opaque inky black with a very small frothy tan head that’s practically a ring, chocolate aroma, low carbonation, sweetish chocolatey mocha taste with alcohol undertones, smooth body, long finish. Deliciously smooth and chocolatey.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: orange haziness with a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some lace
Aroma: mango, papaya, citrusy and some pineapple hoppiness with a nice clean malty underneath
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together in a semi-sweet to slightly bitter quality; finishes with mangoes, papayas and some citrusy hop tones
Texture: about medium bodied - maybe a touch under, some sort of sessionability to this; some smoothness but also some hop heat
Overall: mostly a pretty good NEIPA except for the hop heat in the feel other than that, get that cleaned up and this could be a real banger!

Can to mug.
Appearance: black in color with a finger and a half's worth of off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: briney/salty tones up front, black coffee roasty tones and a light earthy dark maltiness; super light dark chocolate far down in there
Flavor: roasty and earthy initially then a light briney/salty tone slides in; finishes roasty and bitter through the coffee and dark chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, sly smoothness but a good dose of dryness on the tongue
Overall: well, the briney/salty tone was in the aroma but where did it go in the rest of the beer? Weird but I believe I still could come back to this.

Draft at Paragon, 2/19/26. Dark brown, small medium brown head. Boozy, caramel, dark malt, chocolate. Light roast. Could use some balance, the booze slightly overwhelms. Solid.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some lace.
Aroma: dark bready, earthy tones, yeasty spice, dark toast, coffee roast, sweet ash
Flavor: combines all the prior noted aromas nicely to a sly sweet to earthy tone, but I must admit it is nice that the ash was left out in this department; then a mild finish of the earthy to dark bready vibes
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, there's some grit here and it's noticeably grinding along my tongue - so not very smooth - noted, well it is what it is I guess
Overall: great aroma and flavor but get that feel smoothed out and I bet this could be a real gem.
