Description
Our real ales are hand crafted with the local palate in mind, and to exacting standards. We take great pride in the production of our products which are brewed traditionally, with no concentrates, colourings or extract and with accent on the taste of yesteryear. When was the last time you savoured the aroma of a mass produced beer, or tasted its wholesome natural flavour?

Opened in 1995. Moved in 2000 from Gillfoot Brewery, Southerness, Kirkbean.

Deep brown black, sweet rich treacle nose, with a rich complex roast malt, lots of malt fruitness and roast linger. Such a shame to see a few low scores for such an excelent beer that had gone off. And Poor show of the standing order to serve it in such poor condition.

Bottle. Sweet aroma. The flavour is roasted, malty and sweet, perhaps with a little dust. Liquorice aftertaste. Low carbonation and pleasant mouthfeel.

An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel - reminds me of a Bock. The flavor is sweet malty with lots of caramel as well as lighter notes of roasted malt, which makes the end dry and roasted and somewhat bitter.

An orange beer with slight haze underneath a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of raspberries. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of raspberries - too berry like for me, and not very malty. The end is very dry end rather bitter.

A very dark beer with a slight red shine underneath a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasted, while the flavor is sweet - too sweet for me, and with notes of burnt plastic, combined with a roasted note, which in no way balances the sweetness.

An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty combined with some notes of spices, the flavor is pretty much like the aroma, but also with fruity notes.
