Description
We are Oedipus Brewing. Founded by four friends in Amsterdam, we’re always ready to go where our taste buds take us. Oedipus is about fun, energy and doing things differently. We create fantastical beers to reveal to the world that beer is a magical beverage: tasty, exciting and for everyone. Welcome to our universe 🖖🏽
Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.
The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

Tap @ In de Wildeman. Hazy yellowish color, short head. Aroma is a bit grainy of wheat, citrussy hops, lactic acid, horseblanket. Kind of harsh sourness in taste, which is blended nice with some sweet and bitter notes from the other styles. Sometimes the sourness comes through a bit more. Nice move on blending some beers to obtain a better result.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning, bottled 12 June, enjoyed 27 June. Plae blonde color, murky. Snow white head that quickly recedes with no retention at all. Aroma’s: grassy and somewhat earthy hops, citrus (lime even). Retronasal there’s also a hint of malty sweetness. Flavor is moderately bitter, with citrus notes. Light bodied, but not thin. Finishes dry and bitter, somewhat earthy. Flavorful thirst quencher, sessionable and tasy.

Tap @ DDDH, small sample. Probably a fresh recent batch, cause I got a lot of grapefruit and citrus, soft peppery spices. Quite bitter in taste with a spicy bite in the end. Much less saisony and a bit more IPA-like, but with a peppery twist to it. Much better balanced and refreshing. Very likeable. Tap @ several places. Hazy golden color, short head. Aroma of belgian yeast esters, bit spicy from pepper, some soft fruity hop. Bit sweet in taste, some bitterness, medium dry. All in all a very decent beer, but it has never caught me. 3.5
