Draft at Fuegos in ABQ. Black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma full of roasted and burnt grains. Pleasant bitter taste with a strong roasted tone. Finishes with a dose of ash. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Good traditional stout.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 1, 02/08/22. Dark mahogany brown with a good sized beige covering. Nose is nutty, dried fruit rinds, cocoa powder, hint of almond, brown bread. Taste comprises dates, fruit cake, baking powder, light chocolate biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Not bad ... has an almost Belgian feel to it.

A session ender with this beer. No real expectations, another inescapable IPA, but from New Mexico which is not a bad thing. 12 oz can from Total Wine in Santa Fe, opened now and going into a snifter. I see a semi-transparent yellow-gold body and a surviving skim of silvery white foam. The smell is pine cones with some sweetness lurking in the background. Oh, the taste is not newly correct, this is hoppy with grapefruit, cereal and malt. A little sweet, considerably more bitter and fairly dry. I’m on this side of the line.

Gold pour with a small off white head. It has a tart, peachy smell. The flavor is moderately tart with a tasty peach heavy flavor. Refreshing. This works well.
