Notes from October 2011 On tap @ Hop Devil Grill. Pint glasses are not yet extinct. Mud brown & amber color. Decent clarity. Transparent inch of off-white head. Doughy, barely nutty aroma. Ashy. Served too cold. Becomes more crusty as it warms. Flavor is acrid, nearly burnt malt. Dry toast. Earthy, root flavors. Bit of liquorice & faint coffee. Not very caramelized at all. Moderately bitter. Stiff carbonation that probably isn't what Anchor intended. Medium light body; textured feel. Alcohol isn't very noticeable for 6%. Decent bitter American brown, but there wasn't much nuttiness/depth in the roast.

Notes from March 2012 Bottle from New Beer. Thought I put together a tasty Steam/Foghorn sixer, but this one snuck in somehow. Curious, as I've rarely seen this one around town. Thick, pasty, off-white head. Whitewash lace. Dull(but not quite hazy), honey gold body. Smells has a gentle citrus candy thing in front. Mild earthy & pine hops. White bread. Taste has lots of cracker & low-key(though lingering) rindy/pine bitterness. Bit of an aspirin thing to it too. Solvent-like alcohol. Dry, soft carbonation. Very reserved. Not even that refreshing.

Legendaria Porter que sentó las bases del estilo. De color negro, con leves destellos marrones, algo turbia y gran espuma compacta de color marfil.
Aromas muy definidos, se nota perfectamente un ligero torrefacto acompañado de notas a café y algo de chocolate que invitan a probarla. Muy buena sensación en boca con carbonatación media/alta y sabores que van desde el torrefacto al café, con un final ligeramente amargo que dejan un agradable retrogusto.
Una de las mejores en su estilo.

Közepes, örökké tartó hófehér hab, homályos, narancsba hajló szín. Citrusos, déligyümölcsös, fenyős illat. Citrusos, fenyős, déligyümölcsös ízvilág. Könnyű, közepesen szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Visszafogott hazy, de kellemes ivósör.

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivny Raj Mlynske Nivy Bratislava, shared with Marko & Hrabren. Hazy golden coloured, medium sized white head, light tropical fruits and whiff of caramel in the nose. Tropical fruits, mild caramel, notes of bubblegum and light bitter finish.

0.355 l bottle from Pivny ray - Mlynské nivy, thanks Marko for actually getting this, shared with Ogi and him. Unclear orange, small off-white head. Tropical multivitamin juice and candy aroma. Sweet candy, some caramel flavour, light bitterness. Light body, moderate carbonation, light finish. Artificial. Farewell.

0.33l bottle from Pivný raj, Mlynské nivy, shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Could be the last Anchor tick we ever get... hope it survives. Hazy darker orange-golden body, thick ivory head, bit small, medium retention. Creamy aroma, peachy-apricot notes, light white grapes. Soft, sweetish floral taste, a miiild yeasty touch. Lighter than expected. Some fruitiness, but not defined anymore. Not the freshest so raising the score slightly. Fare well (hopefully just for now), Anchor!
