Pours a light reddish brown color with a beige head. Caramel malty aroma. Smooth and slightly sweet. Little nutty aftertaste. Rather malty. It is a good session, but it is not a very complex beer, but I think that the brewers were going for a simple easy brown ale.

Pours an orange body and a white head. Standard apa aroma or light hops, but it honesty it is a pretty weak aroma at least when it is cold. Rather hoppy taste for an APA. Slightly fruity. Gets better warmer and I curse the woman who gave this to me in a frosted mug.

Courtesy of Chris. Bottle was aged for about 3 years. Color is amber with thin white head. Flavor is dry and sweet. Aroma of caramel malt and light barley. Could hardly notice the 10% abv.

Curtesy of Gunhaver. Ruby color, light foam. Aroma is of spices (maybe pepper/corriander) and malt, fruity with apples/figs. Gives a nice warm aftertaste. updated rating. 2008 bottle aroma came off with a vegetable/tomato powder leather like like nose with spices and notes of chocolate. Taste of chocolate malts, spices some cinnamon and roastiness. Sme dark fruits and vegetable palate.

Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting. Bottle from Smoke Rise in Stone Mountain, GA. 2008 bottle (#683/3000). This beer pours black with a medium thin and foamy light tan head that has good retention. Rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and hops in the nose. Rich and smooth body with a roasted character and flavors of caramel malt, coffee and hops, plus a touch of chocolate. The finish is roasted malt and mocha with a lightly bitter hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle: Ohhh this looks absolutely delicious! Dark, dark brown with a big creamy brown head. Aroma is full of coffee, roast, bittersweet cocoa, and a hint of hops. Taste is smooth with roast, caramelized sugar, bittersweet/dark chocolate, and a little raisonlike fruitiness. Smooth and clean. Lingering roasty finish. Thanks kpresley77.

Bottle: Copper pour with a smaller sandy colored head. Malt, resin, and piney notes blend together with a little citrus sweetness. Smooth and clean drinking with plenty of citrus hops, a little carmel, and bits of pine. Nice, wet, and soothing. Just right after cutting the grass. Thanks Kpresley77.

Bottle courtesy of TheBeerCellar. Thanks Matt! Pours red tinged orange with a medium head. VERY strong hop aroma... floral and pine. Taste is much smoother... and the hops seem almost hidden. Nicely balanced once you can find them, and while I wish they were more assertive, it is nice that they are on the mellower side. The hop bomb aroma and the mellow taste make this an interesting one.

Unclemattie sent me this as a bonus beer in my first trade. Thanks Matt! 12oz bottle pours a completely opaque, oily, deep black with a tan head that faded fast. I could smell the sourish aroma from a foot away. Up close had lots of sugar and malt, nuts and a touch of coffee. Compared to other Imperial Stouts the aroma was much sweeter. Flavor has much more coffee than I thought, but it was rounded out with some licorice, burnt sugar, maple, biscuit, nuts and toffee. Slightly thick in the mouth with some lasting roasted bitterness. Very drinkable for an imperial stout, but I missed the hops they were referring to.

Rated March 2008. Big thanks to none other than the obsceneone. No better way to enjoy a tasty barleywine than by the liter swing top. Pours mildly hazy orange to copper with white head. The aroma is big with a load of pine hops mixed with sticky chewy sweet malts, mildly roasted malts and some caramel. This beers smells like a IIPA rather than a barleywine. The taste is either a IIPA or an American barleywine with a west coast hop slant. Yummy. I get a heaping helping of pine hop bitterness followed by sweet sticky malty sweetness. There is just a ton of pine hop bitterness that goes on and on and on. I don't get any dark fruity esters that I associate with the style.
