Deep red-brown (yeah, translucent) body, thin cream head. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate and earthy hops. Chocolatey body is a bit sweet with hints of dark fruit, including a touch of Concord grape, and earthy hops balance. Finishes a bit chalky. All in all, pretty average and nondescript. Thanks to a yet-to-subscribe-to-RB beer drinker for this one!

Bottle. Amber beer with a thin whitich head. Faint hop and sweet malt aroma. Very fruity hop flavor with some malt backing. Low bitterness. Thin bodied.

2004 vintage. Deep cranberry juice-colored body with some suspended sediment, thin cream head. Aroma of toast, chocolate, red wine and a distinct Concord grape character. Nice dry toasty body with grapeskin highlights, a bit woody and earthy. A touch vinous. Alcohol barely perceptible. Light on the spice for the style, this fits nicely with other winter ales that trend more towards the English Strong Ale style. Thanks Larry (goldtwins) for the bottle!

Bottle Pours a very dark brown witha small light tan head. Lacing is light and disipates quickly. Aromas are a nice sweet, woody, malty combination. The high ABV is detectable as well. Flavors are subtle and difficult for me to pick out. Light on the hops, some chocolate and roasted malts. Easy and fairly tasty. Soft finish with not much carbonation.

Hazy golden ale with floaties and huge golden head. Very sweet strawberry aroma, and bushy /resinous hops. Again a very mellow IPA, with resinous hops and chalky citrus. Very dry. Very pleasant an complex body. Bottle sampled with TiggMtl, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. Thanks to Goldtwins.

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with medium head and medium retention. Aroma is quite hoppy and I can already feel the bitterness. Taste is extremely bitter, probably one of the most bitter IPA that I had the chance to taste but also I can feel very light sweetness in the background which make this beer very interesting. Body is just above average and carbonation is medium. Probably one of the most interesting IPA, which mixes some extreme characteristics as well as some balance.

Hazy orange body, thin light cream head. Thick, dense, resiny hops nose. The hops slam the palate the second the beer hits the mouth, with tons of resiny, piney bitterness and peeks of citrus rind. Chewy and thick, this reminds me of a west coast beer, akin to one of Stone’s big beers. Definitely a boon for hopheads, although I consider myself a malt person. Thanks Larry (goldtwins) for the bottle!

Bottle Pours a clear golden amber with a very thick sandy colored frothy head. Aroma is quite citrusy, mostly orange, not as sharp as some others that have a lot of grapefruit in the aroma. Honey and light malts as well. Flavor is plenty of hops but the flavor is soft and easy. As far as IPAs go the easiest one I can remember as far as drinkablility. Feel is soft and smooth, and the trailer is fairly woody and cardboardish. Quite good for the style. Thanks to Captain Cougar for this one.

Thanks to Skaughty for this one! Deep copper color, all the way to the light end of the range for a Brown Ale. Quickly fading head gives way to a slightly sour light malt aroma. Sweet, very little bitterness, but a little thin in the mouthfeel. Drinkable, but this brewery can do better than this.

Thanks to skaughty for the trade. This beer pours a clear dark copper color with a medium thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. Aroma of mild malt, roasted nuts and caramel. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Roasty grain character with malt, caramel and nut flavors. The finish is mildly sweet with just enough hops to make it nicely drinkable from start to finish. Overall this is a pretty good Brown. It isn’t big in the flavor department but it is very easy to drink.
