Description
Throwback Brewery is a small, inspired brewery dedicated to crafting delicious, farm-fresh beer & food from local ingredients. Our brewery and pub are located within a picturesque and meticulously renovated 1860s post & beam barn in North Hampton, NH. Our 12-acre farm- Hobbs Farm- includes a hop yard, young fruit orchard, kitchen & brewery garden, heirloom chickens, and a beer garden overlooking the field.

Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!

Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.

Cheers

Can from the source. Pours a hazy electric purple color with a bubbly white head that also has a purple tint to it. Fruity and lemony tart with some faint cereal maltiness. Kind of one dimensional but fun to look at.

Bottle from the source. Lightly hazy light golden om color with a good sized frothy white head that recedes. Earthy funk on the nose with bits of tart citrus. Earthy funk in the flavor with faint citrus and some light grape and maybe some spicy botanicals. Not too shabby for a funky beer.

Sample at the source. Deep gold in color with a thin bubbly white head. Earthy bretty funky on the nose with lots of spicy earthy botanicals to counter. This one caught me off guard, I didn't realize it was brett-ed. Tasty once I wrapped my head around it.

Sample at the source Pours a hazy lemon yellow with a hint of lime and a small bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Somewhat astringent with bits of fruit sweetness somewhat tart. Really didn't work for me.

Taster at the brewery Lightly hazy dark straw in color with a thin bubbly white head that recedes. Citrus and apricot with lots of gin spices and a sweet bready maltiness underneath. This was a tick for me but I ended up kind of enjoying it. I'm not a gin guy.

On tap at the source Dark brown in color fairly clear with a decent sized off white head that slowly recedes. Roasty earthy chocolate maltiness. Bits of earthy woody oak and a twang of lactic tartness. Decent beer but its going south.
