Throwback Brewery
Microbrewery
in North Hampton,
New Hampshire,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Throwback Brewery
Established in 2011
Given the greenery and peaceful setting of the farm, you would never know that we are conveniently located right off of Route 1 and less than three and a half miles from the beach!
Since we got started in a small warehouse space in July of 2011, our vision at Throwback has been and continues to be all about crafting beer from ingredients grown within 200 miles of us. With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015 and the move to Hobbs Farm, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer.
In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch using the freshest of local ingredients from surrounding farms and New England businesses. For example, the eggs in our Fried Eggs BLTs come from our farm, and all the bread is made from scratch in our kitchen using spent grain from our brewing process. We are proud to serve such fresh and tasty food (and beer!) to our family, friends, and to you, our great customers.
Cheers

On tap at the Brewery Dark brown in color with hints of ruby at the edges and an off white bubbly head that permits. Rich toasty caramel bready maltiness with a touch of smoke and chocolate. The darkest Steam beer I've tried, not sure it is to style but I enjoyed it.

Sample at the source. Hazy murky lemon straw in color with a thin bubbly white head. Earthy fruity citrus and tropical fruits with bits of faint sweet bready maltiness.

Sample at the source. Deep copper color with a thin off white head bubbly but it persists. Rich caramel and bready maltiness with a hint of smoke light earth and fruit. The better Irish red that I had today.

Taster pour on tap at the brewery. Appearance is dark, dark brown (like cola) with thin cap of light brown head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is mild toasted malt with perhaps a hint of milk chocolate. Taste is mild toasted malt with light yeast/tart and hint of milk chocolate. Palate is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, pretty amazing for 2.3% ABV (is that a misprint??) but thin all around compared to higher ABV brethren.

Aroma is strong roasted malts, nuts, hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is charred roasted malt, burnt coffee grinds, baker's chocolate. Palate is light-to-medium body with smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, strong aroma and flavor but a bit to the charred side.

Taster pour on draught at the brewery. Appearance is hazy pink with very mild sparkle, thin ring of off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is mild fruit, wheat, yeast. Mild--a bit like dust/cardboard. Taste is mild fruit with yeast, wheat and earthy beets. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a light, mix of sweet and tart fruit ideally suited for warmer-weather drinking.

Taster pour on draught at the brewery. Appearance is hazy-cloudy dark orange/light brown with no discernible sparkle, ring of off-white head and light lacing. Aroma is a faint, mild sweet and tart fruit. Taste is a juicy cocktail--mostly sweet but some tart balance. Cranberry? Stone fruit? Must be some raspberry in there... Palate is medium bodied with frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, very nice mouthfeel. Mild flavor and aroma; fit for summer drinking.

Can date of 4-23-19. Flavor mild grapefruit, subtle pine, (no resin), weak tropical notes. Herbal bitterness that lingers slightly after the sip. Lighter body. Good.

EBF Last Saturday Hazy dark gold with a hint of red to the hue and a small fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Cranberry tart with just a bit too much ginger for my tastes.

Draught at EBF: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roast and bbq rub. Taste is spicy bbq, with carolina vinegar. Lingering aftertaste. Weird.
