Keg at Ealing Beer Fest 25. Dark but slightly muddy in appearance. Foamy beige head. Aroma combines tang fruit and coffee. Underlying creaminess. Initial creamy.coffee with a berry edge. Develops a bitter espresso bite. Latterly develops malts. Medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.

Gravity cask at the 34th Ealing Beer Festival 2025, day one, 09/07/2025.
Black topped with a khaki head.
Nose is chocolate biscuit, roast malts, dark fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toasted brown sugars, cocoa powder, dried fruit rinds, toffee.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close.
Okay drop.

Cask at the joiners arms Lincoln. Pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are light biscuit and citrus. Light body.

[Cask (gravity pour) at the Basingstoke Beer Festival 2024] A mid chestnut coloured pour; malty aroma; caramel malt taste; with a fresh Kentish hop bitterness and a touch of peppery spice. A good, old-fashioned, bitter.

Cask at Festival der Bierkultur 2015. Floral smooth body. Fresh, malty. Round and smooth. Fresh with a nice round floral aftertaste with still nice Ale-characteristics.

31/5/2024. From cask at the 37th Colchester Real Ale and Cider Festival. Pours clear bright gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is musty, citrus, tropical fruits, slightly soapy. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, oily, soft carbonation. Light dry citric finish. Okay.

24-27/10/2023. From cask at the 45th Norwich Beer Festival. Pours close to black with a small bubbly beige head. Good pour. Aroma is chocolate, malt, dark fruits, berries, aniseed, cinnamon, hint of coffee, spicy edge. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness, touch tart. Medium body, oily, light fizz. Fading spicy finish. Enjoyable.
