Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours cloudy orange-yellow, with a lot of suspended sediment. The nose is tangerine, orange, lime and sourness. The taste is tangerine, orange pith, white bread, sourness, tangy lemon and that’s pretty much it. I imagine it is not meant to sour, but this probably improved the flavour anyway...

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Clearish yellow pour with a nice, foamy white head. Sweetish nose, some toasty straw. Light sweet flavor, faintly tart (?), some butter. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Hints of apple and sugar in the finish. This is probably better than it ought to be. Odd.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours hazy gold with a foamy, white head. Dusty grain, leaf nose. Lightly sweet flavor, light toast, grain and mild sugar. Light in body with average carbonation. Sweet, mild dry finish, some toast grains. A little bland but not bad.

Cask at the Standing Order (JDW), Stevenage. Amber with a thin cream head that laced the glass nicely; caramel malt aroma; lively in the mouth with a malty caramel flavour and a gentle bitterness to finish.

Cask at the Standing Order (JDW). Stevenage. This bears little resemblance to the previous rating :- Cooper coloured with a thin cream head, that laces the glass nicely; soft caramel malt aroma; thin, light, malt flavour; lacking finish. An OK pale mild.

Cask at the Gate House (Wetherspoon) in Highgate London N6 on 9th March 2011. Crystal clear copper with cream-coloured foam. Sweet aroma. Liquid is fruity with a biscuit malt background, and a late, peppery note opens up a bittersweet finish with plenty of upper mouth bitterness. Interesting how the bitterness goes away on subsequent sips only to return nicely in the aftertaste. Quite a "happening" beer and all the more enjoyable for it.

Cask at the Southampton Arms on 9th February 2011. Copper with dead head. Grassy aroma and lemon citrus fruit in-mouth. Tangy citric aftertaste and a very smooth light watery mouthfeel. Drinkable, but for me the main taste didn’t deliver what the initial scent promised.
