Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Pours black in colour, brown bubbly foam head and aroma of roasted malts, treacle, with some chocolate & coffee. Taste is roasted malty, brown sugary, dried fruits, treacle, chocolate & coffee, with spicy earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, spiced earthy roasty bitter finish. Nicely sippable.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Pours black in colour with some dark brown bubbles on top, and aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits, figs, treacle. Taste is smokey, roasty, malty, dark chocolate, dried fuits, coffee, with some spicy earthy bitterness. Full bodied, soft carbonation, roasted earthy bitter finish. Very sippable.

Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium to full body, sticky texture, average to soft carbonation. Warming boozy finish. Super stuff.

Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, average to soft carbonation. Dry warming alcohol finish.

24/12/2020. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of liquorice, toffee, dark chocolate, black treacle, roasted malt and ash. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Rich and full bodied. Very soft carbonation. Lovely.

30/5/2020. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours slightly hazy amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of dank hops, fruit, pine, malt and toffee. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture. Decent beer.

From cask at Bacchus, Newcastle, with OGJ on trip to 24 Northern counties 05.01.18. Labelled Fortified Sea Dog MK2. 6.5 % ABV. Slightly hazy dark golden. Fine aroma and taste of crystal malt, grass and moderate hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel.
