Description
We are Boutilliers, a small brewery based around the back of a farm shop in Faversham (Macknade fine foods if you were the curious sort.) Originally founded by 2 former uni buds, Boutilliers is now run by Rich, a former english teacher, and Drew, professional loud mouth. Our core focus is to brew creative styles and innovate with the resources we have to hand. When possible we like to use produce from local companies including tea and hops but we’ve not limited ourselves to this philosophy. Beer is an infinitely sprawling landscape with an equal number of potential possibilities, we don’t wish to simply make the same beer every time we brew, we want to explore, we want to play, we want our beer to be fun.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Offy in Whitstable. Pours totally clear gold with a lasting, creamy white head. Simple pale grains in the aroma, a little lemon peel, damp straw. Light sweet flavour with further grainy, pale malt character, some grassy bitterness, moderate astringency, grain husk. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with a further astringent note, more grassy bitterness, husky grains, faint plastic, citric hops, some further peel. So so overall.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at The Offy in Whitstable. Pours clear brown with a creamy, beige head. The aroma holds burnt grains, subtle smoke, earth, leathery berries. Light to medium sweet flavour with nips of baking cocoa, roast, some dry smoked malts, dried ham, more old leather. Light in body with average, massaging carbonation. Pretty OK balance in the finish, with further notes of cocoa, some ashy roast, faint smoke, woody dryness, raisins. Enjoyable beer.
