Bottle at Aarhus beerfestival. Pours black with a off white head. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate & coffee. Only lightly smoked, which for me is quite pleasant. Dark fruits - plums & raisin. Quite dusty & warm. Quite good product!

Gravity at Reading Beer Festival 2 May 08. Sweet aroma of prunes. Rich flavor of fruits with prunes dominating. A dry bitterness kicking in after a while.

Cask at Reading Beer Festival 2 May 08. Golden colored. A small white creamy head. Sweet fruity aroma. A rounded complex fruity flavor. Lovely dry fruity finish. Good!

Gravity at Reading Beer Festival 2 May 08. Golden colored. No head. Dark brown - almost black. A tiny filmy head. Lovely roasted aroma. A rounded flavor with coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Even a subtle pleasant dry finish. A remarkable brew.

[2/5/2008: cask at Reading Beer Festival] Thin but large-bubbled head which lasted to the end of the pint (and beyond - couldn’t get the blighter out of my glass!). tastes of everything - smoke, coffee, chocolate, malt, an odd twang of sharp citrus; all the flavours of a strong old ale squeezed into a very well balanced and easy-to-drink 2.7% beer that seems different in every mouthful. Simply astonishing - not just the best mild I’ve ever had, but very possibly the best beer. 9/4/10/4/18 (4.6) [rerate, 16/11/2010, cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Deep brown, beige head, slight effervescense. Chocolate, roasted malt, lime, green leaves, smoke, leather, lemon, an earthy bitterness and finally pine roll across your tongue - a wonderful cornucopia of flavours that entrances you with every mouthful. Is there a better session or lunchtime ale? I think not. 9/4/10/4/18 (4.5)

Bottle. A clear, yellowish golden pour leaves a white head. Citrus and pine dominates the aroma. There’s maltyness and a flowery and fruity note too. The flavor is much the same as the aroma, and finishes with lasting flavors of pine and resin. Medium body, and an almost stinging mouthfeel from the bitterness. One-dimentional but nice. Judging from my two different samples, it almost looks as I had two different beers, but I’m sure I haven’t. Rating: 7-3-7-3-14-3.4. (080509)[br][br]Bottle, thx to Ole_R for sharing. It pours a clear, pale golden body with a medium-sized white head. Heavy roasted malty nose, slightly coffee-ish, with some pine and peach and a heavy hoppyness. Hoppy flavor with pine and resin, as well as some coffee and a balancing maltyness. Full-bodied and with a long hoppy finish. Very malty for an IPA, more like a hopped-up scotch ale, but I like it. Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival. The body is dark as pitch with only a few bubbles on the surface. Rather zestful and smoky aroma. In-depth flavour of dark chocolate and liquorice blended by dark fruits. Progressive bitterness with alcohol shining through. Dusty mouthfeel (sampled with Finn, 02.05.2008).

Bottle, thanks to Magic_Dave. Thanks! Pours a deep, dark red with a thin head. Aroma of dark fruits, whisky, tannic sourness. Taste is dryer than expected... whisky, dark fruits, pepper. Medium bodied... quite nice.

Gravity dispense at Reading Beer Festival (4.9% ABV according to the program). Circular edge surrounding the surface of a hazy blond body. Spicy, sherbet hops in smell followed by a fruity hopped flavour containing apricot. Smooth and long-lived bitter ending. Well bodied (sampled with Finn, 02.05.2008).
