Bottle. An unclear dark golden colored beer with a finger-thick off-white to light beige head. The aroma is fruity, orange zest and some grapefruit, with bready notes and some cheesy stuff. It's medium bodied and semi-dry, with a pleasant carbonation level and quite a lot of bitterness for the style. Orange zest, some grapefruit and a wee touch of lime, notes of grass and pine, and a bready backdrop. Long quite bitter finish with citrus and bread. A decent British style bitter. 170917

Bottle. A big, dense,slowly collapsing off-white head forms over an unclear orange-golden body. The aroma is rather spiced and yeasty, with fruityness and malts in the back. Coriander, orange, chalk, hints of other spices and lemon. It's quite effervescent on the palate, semi-dry and with a decent but low level of bitterness. Chalk, orange zest, wheat malts, bread, coriander and a spiced touch in the flavor. Some sweetness, but not much. Chalky, yeasty, bready and fruity finish. Far from a superior wheat beer this one, it's way too yeasty, and the carbonation level is too high. And to be honest, I don't think removing most of the yeast aroma and flavor would've saved the day for this beer. 170917

Bottle 50 cl. Amber, cloudy with a large foamy white head. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus sense. Light bitter with a OK hop end, not bad.

Bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with a two-finger off-white head leaving lacing. Fruity, but rather weak aroma with some piney, grassy notes and a malty, bready scent with some bread crust. Medium body, quite dry and with a decent carbonation. Quite malty flavor, bready, with caramel and some pale malts. Low bitterness level, but more present in the finish. Grass, pine cones and a touch of citrus zest. Lasting bitter finish. Quite easy drinkable, but it's a boring style. 170831

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen at Tau slipp og båtbryggeri 31.08.17. Orange amber. Persistent white head and lacing. Fine aroma of malt, noble hops, grass and dry hopping. Simiarly fine taste, with medium high bitterness.

Med Fridtjofen på slipp på Tau: flaske fra Gulating Stavanger, delt med skibsrederen. Lett uklar kobber med flott skum som varer. Deilig aroma og smak med engelsk appelsinmarmelade, gress, furunål og lime. Pregnant og god bitterhet i ettersmaken. Kjennes ut som de har brukt en god porsjon engelsk humle. Men hvorfor heter den steinøl? Det kunne godt etiketten fortalt oss. Mersmak.
