Wij zijn jonge ambitieuze brouwers die trots zijn op ‘onze’ stad Amersfoort. Wij brouwen gedurfde speciaalbieren die je zintuigen prikkelen. Hierbij nemen we vaak de nodige risico’s, zoals bier gerijpt op vaten. Dit bier rijpt veel langer dan gebruikelijk en de uitkomst is verbluffend. We willen de bierdrinker en onszelf blijven uitdagen. Iets wat niet lijkt te kunnen, doen we toch. Aan de andere kant hebben we veel respect voor ambacht en traditie. Daarin gaan we dan ook weer “all the way”.

Rock City Beers startte in 2014 als brouwerijhuurder. De naam van de brouwerij is een verwijzing naar de bijnaam van de stad Amersfoort: de Keistad. In 2015 werd er al ongeveer 460 hectoliter geproduceerd. In februari 2016 nam de brouwerij de licentie van Phoenix over van UDB Export. In december 2017 wordt de naam gewijzigd van Rock City Beers naar Rock City Brewing. In 2018 opent de brouwerij een brewpub in Amersfoort. Op vrijdag 2 januari 2018 werd de brouwerij officieel geopend.

Reddish colour with fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have some caramel malts and sweet red fruits. Quite perfumed and aromatic.

Bottle from E-Drinks @ home. Very hazy yellow (a bit ugly to be honest) with a medium sized white head. Smells hops, loads of apricot and peach, some grapefruit, sweet, fresh. Tastes sweet, hops, quite bitter, loads of fruityness. Pretty rough pale ale, but I don't mind. Medium body, nice carbo.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of malt, sweet caramel fudge, raisin and dates. Taste has ripe fruit, dates, raisin, caramel, herbal malt and some vanilla. Bourbon is only faintly there. Just a sweet dubbel.

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of tropical fruit, peach, oat, lacto and candy. Taste has sweet peach candy, oat, wheat, mango and a tropical finish. Nice.

Tap @ Boothill Saloon Amersfoort. Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Good aroma of tropical fruit, but also a hint of wheaty cardboard. Light citrussy and tropical fruity bitterness, bit dry grainy wheat. I still prefer these hazy style pale ales to be better off without the grainy (adjuncts) and with a little bit more bitterness. But its a nice one for sure.

Bottle. Hazy yellow pour. Aroma of pineapple, vegetal hops, mango, tropical fruit and oat. Taste has juicy tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, peach, citrus, orange and oat. Nice neapa. Rock city is getting good in the hop game.

330ml bottle thanks to MonsterMagnet (Euro Local Swap 1/2018). Murky orange-brown with a thin white head dissipating quickly. Aroma of sweet, juicy tropical fruits. Taste of juicy fruits, mango, pineapple, papaya, orange, light sweet, low bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. A fantastic NEIPA.
