33cl Bottle at Kloek. Murky amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, some banana, roosvicee, sweet. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, light spicy, lots of yeast, weak and homebrew - ish. Light bodied, fizzy. Not very good.

Bottle. Black pour, nice brown foamy head. Aroma of mocha coffee, roasted malt and choco. Nice taste of bitter coffee, cacao, cream, mild licorice and bitter hops. Nice one.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Hazy brownish color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste lightly malts, pretty sweet, a hint of caramel - sugary. Light short bitter finish. Average body and carbonation. Meh. Chocolate? No.

Bottle @ joes. Brown colour with a small beige head. Smells dark malts, hint of liquorice, hint of iron. Tastes dark malts, slightly liquorice, slightly herbs. Bit meh. Medium body, soft carbo.

Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Opaque pitch black color, no head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, liquor. Taste malts, liquor, dark malts, some alcohol, slight peaty notes and malt bitter. Quite heavy and a bit unbalanced.

Draft sample @ Bierwinkel Hop. Dark pour. Nice aroma of peat, mild smoke, licorice and sweet coffee. Taste has lots of licorice and less barrel notes than what I hoped for. Some chocolate and malt, but mostly dominant licorice, too much for my liking. Too bad.

Small sample from tap @ PRZH Winterbiertickfest (2016). Black color with no head. Aroma"s of whisky, drop/licorice, soy sauce. Retronasal there’s sweetness, red fruit, whisky. Flavor is moderate sweet, alcoholic. Strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Finishes with alcohol, roast, bitter, which is the best part of this beer.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled draft @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Black with no head. Nose is huge warming / boozy varnish, thick licorice & molasses,… Taste is watery boozy mess of burned malts, charcoal, bitter herbs, chicory, burned,… Watery with a dash coca-cola body. The barrel aging is a real mess of varnish, boozy notes, the whole is watery & I am not crazy about the base. Not a success this one.
