Cask, Bow Bar. Nearly black. Big spicy nose, lots of allspice maybe cardamom. Intensely spiced, lots of liquorice, a little strong. A bit of a mess, but with a concept like that itโs no surprise.

Tap at Sheffield Tap. Clear, darkest brown. Minimal head. Coffee beans. Vanilla. Caramel. Gianduja. Treacle. Taste is treacle sweet, then the coffee led dryness and light bitterness rolls along. Smooth, almost creamy palate. Virtually no carbonation, but not to any detriment. Finish is all of that, with the coffee and vanilla lingering longest. Delicious.

Cask at Sheffield Tap. Clear, dark golden. White, thin, lasting head. Stewed fruit. Grapefruit. Toffee. Taste is pithy bitter, with a big, sweet, malty backbone. Palate is full bodied, slightly greasy, lots of oiliness. Bitter, but fairly short, pithy finish.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Golden ale with a frothy head. Thin in texture and weak tasting for it, although thereโs some good tropical fruits to be had in aroma and taste.
