Description
Sixpoint was founded in 2004 (we like to say it was born at the dawn of civilization, though that’s a story for another time…) in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Red Hook, BKLYN. It was essentially a cult brewery — draft-only, mysterious, cryptic…

In 2010 we released our canned creations, and have been tweaking, improving, and releasing new formulations ever since. Then in May of 2017, we took our biggest step forward to date, releasing all of our ales raw and unfiltered, and simultaneously incorporating new and incredible raw materials obtained over years of sourcing.

In November 2018, Sixpoint was acquired by Artisanal Brewing Ventures.

Not sure if mango flavoring was used in addition to actual mango, but it sure as shit seems like it. Clingy, fake-tasting fruit sweetness on top of a mild grainy base and a little pine. Not good.

Draught @ the City Point location, Brooklyn (4/12/23). Very faintly cloudy rich golden with a foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter orange peel taste, smooth thin body, long medium bitter finish. A nice NEDIPA.

12oz can. Sixpoint is one of those breweries that just needs to go, such weak sauce year after year. Here is another half ass hazy. Looks kind of like a hazy IPL. Soft and sweet. Sort of a hollow IIPA. Not enough hop tone to be interesting. Certainly no malt depth. Quite drinkable for 8.6%, perhaps its main attribute. Not that impressive, but drinkable.

On tap @Bold Rock Asheville, 6/29/23. Downing my cheap burger with an actual beer. Hazy, pale golden honey, hyper frothy head. Potato pancake nose, extra onion. Soft, fruity pancake-sweet starch IPA. Super onion, bitter orange, starchy, juicy bland, weak grass, faint medicinal, grassy finish. Disappointed.
