Description
Sixpoint was founded in 2004 (we like to say it was born at the dawn of civilization, though that’s a story for another time…) in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Red Hook, BKLYN. It was essentially a cult brewery — draft-only, mysterious, cryptic…
In 2010 we released our canned creations, and have been tweaking, improving, and releasing new formulations ever since. Then in May of 2017, we took our biggest step forward to date, releasing all of our ales raw and unfiltered, and simultaneously incorporating new and incredible raw materials obtained over years of sourcing.
In November 2018, Sixpoint was acquired by Artisanal Brewing Ventures.

Pretty hazy golden coloured body with a light, pretty small single centimetre tall pure white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of very strong oranges and vanilla, with a ton of lactose and creamy notes here in the nose with only a dash of malts and no real bitterness from the hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Very strong and pungent, rich malt notes dominate with a ton of wheatie and soft bitterness from the hops with some good orange notes and only a touch of bitterness from the alpha acids, with a light dose of sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows some enjoyable orange and juicy notes without much bitterness at all, with only a good kick of vanilla, cream and sugars on the end, with some pretty easy-going hops here, especially on the end. Overall, a nice IPA with a great deal of orange notes with some good vanilla and wheat notes with the lactose, wheat and soft sugars here and no bitterness at all, nor any pungency. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in New York (Union Square - 14th Street), New York on 03-December-2022 for US$3,50 sampled on the streets of New York on 03-December-2022 with my family at Christmastime.

On tap at The Standard. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of straw and hay with a slight herbal grass underlying. Flavor is similar with a great hay note with straw and a bit of bread.
