Tap at some Brooklyn bar. Mildly dry with a nice hoppy note. Good caramel backbone. It’s not a very complex beer, but it’s easy to drink. The grain flavor is sorta musty. It’s a pretty good summer beer.

On tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn NY on 27th July 2011. Clear gold with virtually no head and no lacing. Berry fruit aroma. Richly fruity and spicy in-mouth, notes of fruitcake, cheese, alcohol. Fruity finish with a developing bitter note in the aftertaste. Thick, full-mouth engaging texture, rich mouthfeel. Excellent.

16 ounce can, best by Sept 29,2011. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a fairly dense 2 finger white head with great retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap that lasts. Some decent lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of honey, bread, lemon, grass, citrus, and a bit of spiciness. Very nice and inviting aromas. Taste of big breadiness, with lemon, grass, and citrus. Finishes with a grassy and spicy hop bitterness that is decently strong and lingers for a bit with lemon and citrus sweetness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body. Nice crisp and refreshing finish, as expected. Extremely drinkable and delicious stuff with no alcohol in the taste or finish. Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Outstanding stuff, and a perfect summer beverage I would drink on a hot day.

Can. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Grapefruit and light tropical fruit aroma. Grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with light pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. tropical fruit and grapefruit lingers with pine.

Can from Half Time. Pours dark ruddy amber with a creamy beige head. Nose is largely citrus hop over roasty malt. Med + body. Flavor is rye but there’s an large amount of hop. Floral and citrus hop with a little pine(maybe that’s rye?). Quite tasty, and it is NW hoppy.

16 ounce can, best by Sept. 29, 2011. Pours slightly hazy reddish brown color with a dense 2 finger off white head with great retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap that lasts. Some decent lacing is left on the glass as well. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, spicy rye, pine, and citrus. A lot of interesting aromas going on here, great stuff. Taste of caramel, rye, chocolate, pine, bread, nuttiness, and some citrus. Mostly malty sweetness on the front with a decent amount of bitterness on the finish that lingers for a bit with caramel, chocolate, bread, and pine. Medium-full bodied with medium carbonation. No alcohol noticed in the taste or finish. Decent amount of creaminess in the mouthfeel as well. Nice balance as well between sweetness and bitterness, with the sweetness being slightly stronger. Overall, an excellent rye ale, highly enjoyable and very drinkable stuff.

Can from Half Time. Pours light amber with a so-so creamy beige head. Nice aroma of floral hop over mildly roasted caramel. Med body. Flavor is very perfumy/floral with some pretty sturdy roast malt underpinning. There’s a lot of hop in this. Finishes hoppy, though not harshly bitter, with noticeable balancing malt. Brilliant ale.
