Sixpoint was founded in 2004 (we like to say it was born at the dawn of civilization, though that’s a story for another time…) in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Red Hook, BKLYN. It was essentially a cult brewery — draft-only, mysterious, cryptic…

In 2010 we released our canned creations, and have been tweaking, improving, and releasing new formulations ever since. Then in May of 2017, we took our biggest step forward to date, releasing all of our ales raw and unfiltered, and simultaneously incorporating new and incredible raw materials obtained over years of sourcing.

In November 2018, Sixpoint was acquired by Artisanal Brewing Ventures.

Green onion and some orange. Caramel and some booze. Murky yellow pour with decent head. Hop tang finish with some booze. Hop creep, and unbalanced booze here. Thin body. Can.

330ml. Hazy amber, small white head. Tangerine, lemon and lime citrus, quite sweet, slight resin, nice bitterness. Its ok.

$2.51 can from TWSP. Gold, hint of haze, white head. Stale hops, resin, citrus peel, pine nose. Resin, pine, light mango, light orange and grapefruit peels. Not sure if this is a NEIIPA, but it's also not old school... or memorable.

Can—aged two years past the brew date. Virtually black with a creamy, beige head that lingers. Aroma full of vanilla and whiskey barrel with a little fudge underneath. A promising start to a dessert beer, even if not particularly nuanced. Taste is less balanced—dominated by an overly sweet vanilla up front, finishing rough and boozy with lots of cheap whiskey. Unbalanced and unnecessarily strong. Workmanlike—there’s no inspiration here, just a bunch of things thrown in the barrel and the requisite high ABV. Full-bodied with a moderate to prickly carbonation that’s a touch too much. Drinkable but in the lower half of the style.

(Can) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with foamy off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with resin, orange peel, pineapple, apricots, caramel, treacle-toffee and alcohol. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of resin, orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, apricots, honey, syrup, caramel and a boozy finish with a generous resiny, citric bitterness. Almost full body, sweet. Rich and hoppy, but quite unbalanced. A bit boozy, sharp and aggressive. Still, quite nice.
