Cask, 6 % abv, half pint at the brewpub in Islington. Creamy fawn coloured head, clingy lacing, almost black in the glass. Prominent aroma of spruce and caramel malts. Blended taste of sweet brown malt balanced by notes of spruce. Mid-dry bittersweet ending. Decent. (London 13.01.2019).

Half-pint, on tap at the brewpub in Islington. Remaining low white head over a misty golden-brown body, spotty lacing. Brown malty smell with dusty hops. The taste profile is dominated by caramel malts followed by moments of leafy bitterness to the ending. Medium plus bodied. Pretty alright. (London 13,01.2019).

Unclear medium yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, wheat, sweet malt, moderate yeasty, saison yeast, fruity yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, wheat, fruity yeast, saison yeast, light spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180731]

Cask at BH&K Islington, 12/09/18. Rich amber to chestnut brown with a well presented beige head. Nose is tangy dark fruits, soured aroma, toffee, brown bread, vinegar. Taste comprises brown bread, light brown sugar, dark fruits, nutty twang. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Smelt off but tasted ok if somewhat dull.

Keg at the source, 25/06/18. Light black with a decent tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is sweet malts, light coconut shavings, chocolate, brown sugar. Taste comprises toffee, sweet malts, cocoa powder, brown sugars, light coconut. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout.

Taste comprises orange squash, soft breads, cantaloupe melon, straw, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough clean drinking APA.
