About
Welcome North Union Brewing Co, founded with the sole aim to produce high quality craft beer for good people to enjoy and savour.

Cuckoo brewery who set up in 2016 brewing at Harthill Village Brewery. In 2017 they were in the process of moving to the above address where a brewery was planned, but the operation ceased and uncertainty exists as to if any beer was brewed in Sheffield.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear gold. A few bright white suds for a head. Sweet, grainy, toffee malts. Pineapple. Ripe strawberry. Some fusty orange. Bit of a Parma Violet sweet thing. Very much at the sweet end of the spectrum. Taste is sweet initially, then there’s a rising, zesty bitterness. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Has some banana esters about it. Finishes long, light bitter, with a lasting sweetness on the lips. Old world as opposed to New. Pretty easy drinking, though.

Bottle. Clear, deep red. Halo of off white head. Sweet, granary bread. Some caramel cola thing going on. Taste is cola sweet. Turns fruity dry. Plenty of soft carbonation. Finish had a little charred wood bitterness to it. Not my bag.

Clear amber - brown beer, small off white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and mildly crisp. The thin malts bring light touches of caramel and cream. The mid is all tea! Trace of esters. Dry finish. Inoffensive but so very dull .

Bit of a gusher. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, thin and semi dry and with modest fine carbonation. Sweet pale malts, milky sweet, too sweet! Orange and a trace of marmalade. Smooth finish. Mild bitter linger. Not really got the APA feel.

330ml bottle from Turner’s Beer Shop, Abbeydale - Clear dark ruby body, thick tan head. Nose is a bit of yeast, some dark red fruits. Taste is spicy fruit cake, bits of raisin, bits of winter spices. Slight warmth on the way down. Not disappointing.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. Glossy black with a ring of beige head; malty aroma; rather thin with a sweet brown sugar taste with a touch of spice; and a dry warming finish.

Bottle. Mitchells Wines, Sheffield. Clear gold. Bubbly, white head, that doesn’t hang around. Sweet caramel malts. Ripe orange hop. Grassy. Some oily herb. A hint of spice, and a hint of ripe banana. Don’t get too much of the promised resinous aroma. Taste is oily hop bitter. Good balance of sweetness. Decent body, with soft carbonation, that matches well. Some more of the spice in there, too. Finishes sweet, turning lingering, moderate bitter. Nice one.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Clear Amber. No head. Sweet, slightly spicy, caramel malts. Hint of fruity hop. Taste is sweet, overall, with a hint of dry at the end. Syrupy palate. Touch of spice. Finishes sweet. Not for me, this one.
