Beer Table To Go, GCT NYC: tap: pours hazy golden yellow with a whote head. Aroma is floral, perfume, pineapple, and tropical fruit. Not too bitter. Kind of sharp at times. Not too heavy and fairly easy to drink for a large beer. Not too sweet. Malt is sufficient to give it good body. I liked it fine.

Draft at Sunset Grill and Tap. Looks like grapefruit juice in the glass. Aroma is mild pine, juicy citrus of tangerine or grapefruit.
I got to say the center of this.brew had a juicy character with plenty of citrus. The pine makes an appearance with some flashes of grass. The bitterness is heavy and lasting, no mistake that this an Imperial / DIPA. Simply no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it. This will slap your palate down. Hard core slap in the face.
I starting to think ClarkVV only likes pilsners and lagers because this is awesome and exactly what the Brewer intended it to be. Real nice!

på Ingefärsmannen. Gingerman Manhattan Ljus å ganska grumlig. Doftar Woow mycket ananas lite persika . Smakar? Annans och vingummin därefter kommer en grapeaktig beska. Riktigt mjuk å krämig i munnen. Denna Dipa dööö!!!! 9% otroligt kunde inte ana. Så ja Köööp

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a one finger white foamy quickly dissipating head that left some white side notes of clinginess.
The smell starts off with a dry efferevescent champagne like character rolling over some sweet lemon pulp and a delicate sweet dry grassiness. Grapefruit slides in underneath.
The taste moderately balances the crisp sweetness of the dryness to a light wet nurturing aftertaste. Light crisp sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with the dry crispness hitting my tongue appropriately.
Overall, nice saison, I’d have again, most likely with food.

Kicked right as we got to Mystic, but thankfully and coincidentally, our next stop randomly had it on.
Deep yellow-bronze body is topped by a sizable white head with moderate retention and a strong haziness.
Floral, perfume-like hop notes, with herbs, light sprucey-pine and dry pineapple. Citrus and more easygoing tropical fruit qualities are here, but the finish, especially with warming and as the glass gets lower, gets a little bit resinous. Didn’t realize this was 9% abv. Doesn’t show through tremendously, but it’s certainly notable. Light breadiness from the malts in the background.

This is quite the name...beer pours a light-amber-golden color with a beige head atop that shows moderate to moderately-high retention. Medium clarity.
Very spicy nose, with the juniper adding a very sharp, clear note that seems to dominate, though not obnoxiously so. Light Belgian esters behind it show apples, cherries and other light fruits. Bready, crystal-like malts pronounce the dry spice character; would rather have seen some heavily honey-like pils malt in their place. Lots of pepper phenol on the finish (or I suppose that’s calendula?). Not much in the way of blueberry, perhaps some fruit skin-like character? No alcohol or flaw.
Spice/herb/branch/berry (whatever the hell you call juniper) dominated, though again, not to the point of unpleasantness. Very dry, with borderline scratchy malts that do nothing to allay the astringent character of the calendula and juniper. Peppery, but with a tight carbonation and enough saison quality to satisfy. Gets a bit soapy towards the end. Definitely could have eased off on the adjunct levels and/or thrown in more base malt apparency. Rating is to a gruit style, not saison.

Poured from a Batch 002 bottle. Aroma is somewhat fruity with some light citrus, moderate pineapple and white grapes. Some light tropical fruit and tannins. Light oak notes. Pours a slightly hazy, pale yellow gold with a medium sized, moderately thick, white head that steadily recedes and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with light citrus and moderate pineapple notes. Some light stone fruit and apple esters. Some light white wine notes and oak tannins. Medium light oak notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium to medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice sour beer but its lacking the earthy and herbal funk present in lambics. Nice fruit notes with a balanced, mellow acidity.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in Fall 2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate earthy yeast spiciness and light fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast spiciness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. High carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

This was poured into a tulip.
Before actually consuming with food, I tasted for myself.
The appearance was a hazy burnt to glossy orange color with a one and a half finger white to bubbly foamy head. Quickly dissipated and left a moderately filmy to semi-bubbly lacing sticking to the glass.
The smell had some pear and light sweet citrus up front. Semi-sweet Belgian sugar slides into an extremely subtle spice underneath. Vinous initially but evens out as it warms.
The taste was mainly the same with the nice sweet dry aftertaste. Sticky vinous in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a good. sessionability about it. Carbonation feels harsh in the beginning but ends up balancing out nicely.
Overall, this was a pretty good table beer. I’d say it worked as a saison. I ended up having a bacon, roast beef and American cheese sandwich with it that tasted real good.
