Towering, dense, quite stable yellowish head over faintly veiled greenish-golden beer. Spicy nose, yeasty, citrus. Rather dull. BItter, some ureum, human sweat, snert, dull grains, spices and herbs. Finishes astringent. Dry; long lasting effects. Nope, that isn’t it - nothing attractive, nothing pleasing. Wouldn’t want to drink this during hard work.

Stable thick beige head over yellow-shot dark brown beer; some lace. Caramel, molasses, leafy, dark mlats and melanoidins. Smells rather sweetish. Dry, very leafy, bitterish flavour on sweeter malty underbuild.. Molasses seem to be fermented out almost completely. Roasted. Seems rather well bodied, certainly for its ABV; slick, dry. Some UK character indeed.

Small white head, fast gone over veiled chromate yellow beer. Nice lambic-y nose, citrus, lactic acid, pedio/Brett, farmyard aromas. Hint at dry sherry. Tart, even wry bitterish/woody on top of typical lactic/lemony sour. Floormop Brett in the finish. Acidburn, astringency, dry-out effect; well-carbonated feel, thinnish body. It might not be lambic, nor even called so, it’s impressive to taste how close yet another manages to get.

750 ml bottle into snifter, batch #016. Pours clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces t oa small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, molasses, toast, dark bread, pepper, light char/coffee, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, fruity/spicy yeast, molasses, and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, molasses, toast, dark bread, light char/coffee, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, fig, date, molasses, toast, dark bread, pepper, light coffee/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, fruity/spicy yeast, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate bitter/roasted dryness after the finish as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice English/Belgian stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, fruity/spicy yeast, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to sip on. This has the balanced character of a dry stout and English porter as advertised; with some additional spicy Belgian yeast character. A unique and very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from NERHBC, thanks for the opportunity! Somewhat hazy deep amber color with a frothy off white head that persists forever. Not a whole lot of info about this beer, feels like a dark saison but had some odd fruity bitter tanic flavors to it. Kind of digging it and I usually hate a gruit.

Craft Clerkenwell. LKS 15K bash. Thanks to Leighton. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Very light malts with a light vanilla oak. Soft wine and grape and very light pear. Light semi dry finish. Light but still manages to enchant despite it’s dryness.
