Bottle from Westhill SS. It pours clearish deep orangey - amber with a thick, foamy beige head. The aroma is sweet - spicy, gingerbread, digestive biscuits, orange peel, biscotti and brown bread. The taste is dry, dull bitterness, biscuit, wood, earthy, resin, pithy, soapy citrus, orangey tang and tannin with a drying and slightly grainy finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A bit grainy and drying. Not their best...

Bottle from Westhill SS. It pours golden with a medium foamy white head. The soft, sweet, doughy white bread, toasty grains, cereal, grass and distant hint of citrus. The taste is firmly dry, toasty grain, doughy bread, floury, grass, straw, hay, spice, pithy and some chalkiness with a drying finish. Average body and carbonation. A bit chalky after and while. Fine anyhow.

Bottle picked up in Westhill. It pours deep reddish - brown with medium light tan head. The aroma is soft, fruity, ripe strawberry takes the lead, juicy, jammy, tangy, jelly babies and Victoria sponge cake. The taste is crisp, yet soft, fruity, juicy, tangy, real strawberry character throughout (not an artifical one), jammy, Victoria sponge cake, splash of cola and just a touch of woody tannin. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Has a nice real fruit character. A very solid fruit beer.

The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, sticky, caramel, toffee, cola, toothy, earthy, peanuts, wood, leather, pennies, varnish, waxy citrus and orange marmalade with a drying finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. A bit messy. Chewy and drying, yet sweet. Pretty basic.

Bottle picked deep / dark brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, dried figs, figgy pudding, sultana, raisin, fruit cake, pie crust, spice, cherry cola, plum and date. The taste is dry roast, bitter - sweet, oily, plum, date, prune, Dr Pepper, cherry cola, fruit cake, toasty malts, touch of burnt toast, touch of booze, cola cubes and slightly herbal / medicinal with a slick finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Maybe errs on the sweet side, but there is a good load of fruitiness. Decent.

Bottle picked up at Aldi Inverurie. It pours hazy orange - amber with a small white head. The aroma is rather floral, sweet, tangy orange marmalade, malt loaf and toasty grains. The taste is dry, light bitterness, floral, grassy, toasty grain, oily orange, kick of marmalade and cereal with a drying finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Not much to it, but it drinks alright. Fine.

Bottle picked up at the brewery. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent light tan head. The aroma is malt - driven, sweet malt loaf character, toasty grain, mighty malt, dark fruits and a touch of treacle. The taste is smooth, roasty malts, toasty, bit of liquorice, treacle, dark fruits, plum, prune, damson and a touch if spice with a drying and toasty finish. Light to medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quite moreish actually. Grew on me.
