Bottle picked up at the brewery. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent light tan head. The aroma is malt - driven, sweet malt loaf character, toasty grain, mighty malt, dark fruits and a touch of treacle. The taste is smooth, roasty malts, toasty, bit of liquorice, treacle, dark fruits, plum, prune, damson and a touch if spice with a drying and toasty finish. Light to medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quite moreish actually. Grew on me.

Bottle picked up at the Brewery. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma is resinous, varnish, oily, leather, brown bread, rope, touch of marmalade and earth. The taste is bitter - sweet, drying, oily, brown bread, varnish, resin, peppery spice, tannin and old leather sofa. The finish is rather drying. Average body and moderate carbonation. More like a bitter bitter, than what I would call a session IPA. Grew on me a bit.

Bottled picked up at the brewery. It pours clear rich amber with a medium white head. The aroma is perfumed, oily orange, toasty grain, cereal, biscuit, a bit of coriander and caramel. The taste is dry, toasty grain, green, coriander, cereal, straw, bit of soapy citrus and spice with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not a huge fan of coriander in general, so probably wasn't gonna love it. Fair enough overall.

Bottle picked up at the brewery. It pours clear dark brown with a decent foamy beige head. The aroma is roasted malt, quite sweet, cacao, caramel, millionaires shortbread, chocolate cake and briwn bread. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, charcoal, bit of burnt toast, burnt coffee grounds, umami, peppery spice, liquorice and some chalkiness with a rather drying finish. Lighter end of medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Decent aroma, but the taste is a bit burnt unfortunately. So-so.

Cask handpull at Burnside. It pours deep brown with a medium foamy beige head. The aroma is earth roast, subdued, slightly ashy, leather, coffee powder and brown bread. The taste is very dry, ashy, charred, brown bread, bitter coffee grounds, instant coffee, quite harsh with weak acidity. Medium body and soft carbonation. Rather harsh and raw. Light eating spoonfuls of instant coffee. Not great.

Golden beer, light fruity aroma. Taste is bitter, hoppy fruit and quite boozy. A bit too boozy for me. I should have chilled it a bit more but the taste of alcohol isn't well enough concealed by the taste regardless.
