Cloudy dark amber, creamy offwhite head. Aroma has malt and fennel seeds. Light anise flavour, sweetish with some sourish and phenolic notes. Slightly watery and ok drinkable.

Sample from 50 cl bottle. Clear, golden color with a thin, white head. Sweet aroma with buckthorn, herbal hints and caramel malts. Taste is bitter. Medium body. Finishes dry and herbal bitter. Okay ish.

Clear golden, white froth. Malty aroma with slightly weird herbal notes. Sweetish flavour, juicy and sweet citrus - must be the buckthorn. Ends bitter and slighly herbal. Bitterness is strangely unbalanced but all in all this is a rather harmless beer.

Backlog. Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 31.03.13. Dark brown to black. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and prune compote. Taste of dark chocolate with some coffe. Coffee and moderate bitterness lingering on in long aftertaste. Appropriately low carbonation. High drinkability.
