Description
The Ayr Brewing Company brewed it's first ales in October 2009, and in a short space of time gained numerous awards at both local and national level. As a 5 Barrel Micro Brewery we are currently producing around 60 casks of ale a week and supplying pubs throughout the UK. We are the first brewery in the area for over 80 years and operate out of The Glen Park Hotel, where you can enjoy a delicious meal and our ales on tap in the bar/restaurant.

Bottle from Aldi, consumed in Meldrum. It pours clear orangey amber with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, zingy, tangerine, orange blossom, peach and gummy bears. The taste is crisp, dry, pithy, zesty, tangerine, floral, orange blossom, sappy, peppery spice and some grass with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Drinks easy for sure. Not bad.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Swindon Beer Festival 25/10/2018. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. Citrus hops, sharpish fruits, light malts and a dryish finish. Good.

Bottle from the Glenpark Hotel in Ayr. Appearance - opaque black with an olive sheen and a lovely fawn head. Nose - chocolate and liquorice which then manifests itself as a blackcurrant menthol thing. Taste - drier and less fruity. Dry liquorice or charcoal thing. Dark chocolate still. Maybe some burnt raisins. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture. Dry crunchy finish. Overall - lovely beer.

One litre bottle from Glen Park Hotel, Ayr. Appearance - deep opaque black with a deep fawn to brown head. It seems darker than other versions. Nose - dark creamy chocolate, orange and coffee. Taste - more orange chocolate and coffee. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy middle and end. Overall - actually richer than other versions but could be a bit more dry and biscuity on the finish.

Bottle from the Glenpark Hotel in Ayr. Appearance - opaque brown to black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark rich chocolate. I think there's melon there but possibly because I sent out a search party. Taste - dark rich chocolate but no melon evident. Palate - medium bodied and creamy. Long elegant finish. Overall - good despite slight absence of melon.

Taster at PoW Beer Fest, Farnborough. Creamy coffee aroma.. Some dark fruit. Dark and glossy. Thinning beige head. Bitter with a sour berry edge. Plus the aforementioned coffee. Light-medium bodied. Thin. Flat. Long finish. Decent enough porter. Interesting without being amazing.
