(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 19 May 2011) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, ashes and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, caramel, dark bread, raisins, a hint of ashes and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Nice one.

At the Sun Inn, Kelvedon, Bank Holiday weekend beer festival. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Smooth semi dry palate. Bitter orange but with some more juicy fruits going on. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Some bubblegum buried underneath. Pretty bitter but has the taste too match. Tasty!

Gravicask at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon for their bank holiday weekend beer fest. Very dark red - brown beer. No real head. Dry palate, low carbonation. Dark malt with a hint of coffee. Fair bit of tangy dark fruits underneath. A nice beer somewhat wrecked by a subtle but bitter burned malt flavour.

Cask at CPK on 13 Apr 2011. Gold with thick white head and rich lacing. Richly hoppy and fruity. Engaging texture and easy drinking. Grapefruit, citric and berry fruits, and a hoppy finish.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear light medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, butter, caramel notes. Flavor is heavy moderate sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, caramel notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100805]

Cask, half pint well kept and served at CASK pub and Kitchen. Golden body, almost naked at the surface, fragile lacing. Strong spiced hoppy smell. The taste character is a mix of ginger and dry, hoppy fruits. Smooth bitter endnotes. Oily palate. Some refreshment, a bit unusual (London, 22.03.2011).

Dark, almost opaque ruby-brown color, small brown head. Coffeish-milky aroma. Good body for this ABV. Milky, toasted malty, coffeish flavor. Although body is good, palate is watery leading to very short finish. Promises a lot, but gives only a bit :)(

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Clear dark amber beer. No real head. Tangy fruit, a little mild dark malt. Pleasantly tangy dark orange. Slightly bitter aftertase. Was hoping for some good stuff from the Summit hops - didn’t really happen!
