Description
Mighty Oak Brewing Company was founded by John Boyce in Brentwood in Essex in 1995 with brewing commencing in 1996. It moved to the town of Maldon in January 2001, and set up in the West Station Yard industrial area, once a major local industrial area with its own railway branch line to Witham.
The brewery makes mostly ale and exports these throughout Essex, London, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Kent. Many of the brewery's products are available to buy privately in different size plastic bladders up to keg size.

Patchy surface atop of a clear amber coloured body. Mild earthy dark malts to the nose. Hop resin with semi sweet malts in flavour. A good bitter touch on the swallow. Cask, half pint at Southampton Arms, London 29 Sep 10

(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 7 Aug 2010) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit and dusty hops. Malty taste with biscuity malt, apricots and dusty hops in a rather dry finish with a certain bitterness. On the thin side. Decent bitter.

Hazy gold beer with a residual suddy white head. Light dry palate. Reasonable orangey hops. A hint of sulphur. Over dry finish. Any Nelson hop characteristics passed me by!

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, spicy, hops, apple notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Cask@GBBF2010. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with some nuts and mild honeyish and tropical fruity notes. Flavour is fruity and floral with some mild herbal notes. Also some slight liquorice in it.

From cask at Market porter. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Light malty and butterish. Sweet malty and slight citrusy hops flavoured. Bitter and fruity into the finish.
