Cask Conditioned at the Wenlock Arms, 30/1/08. Deep gold colour with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of grainy malt with some floral hops. Full mouth feel with some sweet malt flavour ending in a spicy finish. Drinnkable.

Cask-conditioned. Black coloured with a moderate tan head. Roasted malt and bitter chocolate aroma. Light mouth feel, with flavours of more chocolate and fruit. Good.

[i] Cask at The National Winter Ales Festival, Manchester 18-01-07 [/i] Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a fruity and toffee aroma. Malts come to the fore, along with a surprisingly forceful bitterness, I found this to be just a bit too muddled though and having finished it have to confess to be just a bit disappointed.

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, Islington, London N1, UK. [ My English beer # 500 ]. Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, coffee, moderate wood, smoke. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (281207)

[i] Cask Handpump at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford 20-12-07 [/i] Chestnut in colour, fierce fruity bite to this beer, malts are present but pushed aside by the crisp bitter fruity bite, lovely!

Cask at Wenlock Arms, London. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malthy with notes of caramel and metal, leading to a dry bitter and metallic finish.

[i] Cask at Oxford Beer Festival 11-10-07 [/i] Pours light golden with nice tight white head. Really fresh citrus hop aroma. Tasted Fresh, hoppy zingy and juicy, this beer had a lovely tanginess to it.

Cask handpull at Wenlock. Clear copper, lasting beige head. Toffee with faint smoke aroma, may be diacetyl butter hidden in there somewhere. Tasty enough, nice fruit salad fruit comes through. Smoke is more ashtray. A smoked fruity bitter. Fine and in good condition if a bit odd.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Golden yellow colour with green tinges, brief white head. Fruity nose with lemon peel, spicy notes of grassy hops and biscuity malt aromas. Fruity taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit and grassy hops in the finish. Underlying biscuity malt character. Balanced and very fresh.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Dark brown colour with brief pale brown head. Malty nose with roasted notes of coffee, chikory and dark fruit. Roasted taste with wild berries, coffee and a nice coffeeish bitterness in the finish. Thin body, but with more bitterness than most milds. Very tasty mild, one of the better I’ve tried.
